Appointment types
You don’t need a GP referral before your first appointment with a dietitian — many people start with a private appointment, and from there we can identify your best funding options. You’re welcome to come exactly as you are, even if you’re feeling unsure; your initial session is simply a chance for us to understand your needs and support you.

GP referrals
Doctors can set up a Care Plan, which assigns Medicare funding towards seeing a dietitian.
This can be for support with managing an ongoing condition (Chronic Condition Management Plan) or an eating disorder (Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan).
If you don't have a plan, we may be able to provide a letter of support after your initial session to help your GP assess whether a care plan is suitable for your needs.
If you have a plan in place already, you can make a Care Plan appointment or an Eating Disorder appointment.
