Lane Edwards - Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD)

I founded Guardian Dietitian because I believe people make their best health decisions when they’re given clear, evidence‑based information and the confidence to trust their own bodies. My role is to share the knowledge, and help you recognise that you’re your body’s best guide once you have it.
Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful change happens when someone feels understood, supported, and ready to take the next step toward better health.
I work closely with individuals navigating cardiometabolic concerns such as weight changes, GLP‑1 treatment, pre‑diabetes and diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure management. Many of my patients come to me when they’re almost ready, or ready, to make a shift, and they’re looking for a partner who can help them move forward without pressure or judgement.
I also support people with gastrointestinal concerns, not just by adjusting food, but by helping them understand the gut–brain axis, recognise when symptoms are driven by stress or nervous‑system load, and identify when food is the culprit and when it probably isn’t. A lot of my work involves helping people rebuild confidence in their gut, reduce fear around symptoms, and use fibre in a way that supports both digestive comfort and long‑term health.
My approach is grounded in motivational interviewing, which means I help you uncover your own reasons for change and build confidence in the strengths you already have.
I’m also a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician, which allows me to support people with more complex nutrition and behavioural needs with steadiness and care.
Whether you’re taking your first step or your fiftieth, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to build a healthier relationship with food, your body, and your long‑term wellbeing.
Outside of work, I enjoy long walks in nature with my husband and heeler x kelpie, beach days, staying up to date with nutrition information, writing health and nutrition articles, and watching movies. Project Hail Mary is a recent favourite I may have seen twice at the Sun theatre.
